This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, DAIJIRO KATOH who was born in Japan on July 04, 1976 and passed away on April 20, 2003 at the age of 26. We will remember him forever.
Daijiro was a special and tallented MotoGP rider,who lost his life doing what he loved:Racing.
Starting on Pocketbikes with the age of 3,but restarting later with the age of 5 years old,Daijiro grew up into a tallented rider,becoming a world champion on the category of 250cc,in 2001.His dream had come true,then!When Daijiro moved then,to the MotoGP category,he was Japan`s hope again,for the MotoGP competition.Everyone knew and hoped that Daijiro could do it again,and become a world champion,once again!!!!
Until that terrible day came...Suzuka,his favourite track,would take away his life,in a strange,absurd and violent accident.
Daijiro was a lovely man,loved and cherished by everyone who knew him...Always with a smile on his lips,he liked to live life to the fullest,and he loved and respected deeply his family,friends,fans,and colleagues.
With his tragic death,he sadly left behind his beautiful wife Makiko,and his two lovely kids Ikko and Rinka...

Daijiro74 Cup,is an event carried out by Daijiro`s friends and family,to make peace to Daijiro`s soul,and make his late dream come true:Promoting motorbike racing among chidren,and teens,and to discover and get new tallented young riders,into motorbike competitions,such as All Japan,and MotoGP.His legacy and dream,is from a genius,and I realy hope his wishes will come true,from the bottom of my heart!
